Summary

Me and Sam both use Hero Ne

This means that:

  • We both prioritize novelty and new information

  • We both gather as our main State

  • We are both disinterested in routine, predictable interactions

Where we begin to diverge is with our second supplimentary function

Sam's Fi:

  • Respects and values self-expression

  • Desires to understand (usually by incredible active listening and attention to verbal cues) other's and the more complex they are the more to understand

  • Desires to grow his own identity and self-expression through exposing himself to others'

My Ti:

  • Respects and values systematic thinking

  • Desires to understand others' ideas and the more complex the ideas the more there is to understand and deliberate

  • Desires to grow my own internal logic and understanding of the world through exposing myself to others' thoughts and ideas about the world and subjecting them to logical scrutiny.

The interaction

Context

At the time, Sam was religious and overheard me talking about something with my desk-mate.

Our initial (generalized due to lack of specific memory) interaction of:

Brandon: "Is talking about the ridiculousness of some religious idea or event"

Sam: "Interjects with some factoid about said event that he believed validated it in a logical way somehow"

Brandon: "Sources?"

As a result of this:

  • I was intrigued by Sam's willingness to introspect and consider that he didn't have sources for the statement he made.

  • Sam was intrigued by quote

A person who openly questioned my beliefs, not in a personal attack, but as a consideration of the logic behind them? Return for more conversation asap
