Socionics is a system that attempts to create a formula that can predict how certain types will get along by comparing function stacks and using some logic to theorize how those to types would get along. There are several types of relationships from Kindred, to Beneficiary. This system is much more to the point and focused on real world application. To this point, there are much more extensive analysis of personality types flaws and weaknesses.
One big contribution is the Model A framework for describing how certain functions behave in different spots of a function stack. The Model A framework is very interesting and can lead to different ways of thinking about functions in general. I have not found the model to be especially useful in everyday use and only occasionally do its predictions match reality.
Socionics was the first system I found that used the term Info Element. In Socionics, info elements can be thought of as the content of a function. What is actually inside the function that leads to specific behavior. Functions can be thought of as containers that each have their own properties and as a result change how info elements stored inside behave and view the world.
The functions outlined in the Model A theorize about intent, purpose, use-cases and more as they relate to a particular info element. In short, info elements behave differently depending on which function they occupy.
